Retaining and Garden Wall Systems:
The Modern Hardscaping Alternative to Railroad Ties

UPPER DARBY, PA -- For sheer strength, beauty and price, landscapers, masons and homeowners will find there is no substitute for Keystone garden and retaining wall systems. And they're available at A. Marinelli & Sons. These systems have the natural look of quarried stone and blend in beautifully with the contours and natural slope of the land. They enable the user to build straight, curved or terraced walls that help define planted and contoured areas and add a subtle beauty that varies with the changing light of the day. What’s more, the Keystone Garden Wall, engineered for heights of three feet, is the perfect alternative to treated wood and timber walls which will deteriorate over time. The interlocking units are made of a high-strength, low absorption environmentally safe and lightweight concrete material for easy handling. Heavier duty retaining wall units are available for walls three to fifteen feet high. Compared in price to a wall made with railroad ties, a typical garden wall 24 fee in length and two feet high costs less because there are no spikes or rids in the wall system.

UPPER DARBY, PA -- When it comes to advertising and marketing, A. Marinelli & Sons has established a niche for itself when compared to other building supply companies in the Delaware Valley. "We're unique in our approach if you look at what others are doing," says VP Fran Marinelli. Not only are we on TV this spring, we've opened up our own website." The new TV spots and website are part of an overall strategy to attract additional business from both contractors and homeowners. While the business still caters strongly to local patrons and contractors, there are product lines which have the potential to attract customers from out of state, Marinelli says. Flagstone is a case in point. For the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta, A. Marinelli & Sons supplied Pennsylvania bluestone flagstone to the Governor's Mansion. "The request really came in by accident. Our goal is to promote unique building products such as this that are indigenous to our area for use elsewhere. We see the website as helping this cause. The market for flagstone is wide open."

The new TV spots, which focus on traditional masonry products and landscaping materials, will be aired this spring on cable channels that reach Delaware, Montgomery and Chester counties.
